We started CSRA Night & Day in 2021 because the area is full of small businesses, hidden gems, and good events that locals just don’t hear about until they’re already over. We wanted a place that showcases locally owned and small businesses with clean, clear content — great date night spots, weekend events, hidden gems, and the kind of local stuff you don’t always hear about until it’s too late to make plans.
What started as date night ideas has grown into much more: family outings, live music, weekly event roundups, new openings, festivals, holidays, and pretty much anything worth knowing about across Augusta, Evans, Martinez, Grovetown, North Augusta, and Aiken. We’ve been at this for five years now, and what’s true on day one is still true today: we’re not an influencer page. We’re not a critic. We’re a local resource — written by locals, for locals, about the places and events that make the CSRA worth showing up for.
This post is a quick orientation. If you’re new here, this is what we’re about, who we serve, what you’ll find, and how to use the site. Welcome.
What CSRA Night & Day actually is
CSRA Night & Day is a local discovery brand for the Central Savannah River Area. The name was originally Dating CSRA — a nod to date nights — but enough people thought it was an actual dating service that we shifted to CSRA Night & Day. Both halves of the day, all the way across the CSRA.
If you’ve been in the area for a while, you’ve probably seen our content. Around 800,000 monthly Facebook views and 300,000 monthly Instagram reach. We post a few times a day across the local lanes — restaurants, events, hidden gems, weekend roundups, family-friendly options. The website is the home base where it all lives.
We are not the Augusta Chronicle. We’re not Visit Augusta. We’re not a tourism board. We don’t have a press pass or an editorial budget. We’re a small operation run by a couple who actually live here, who like going out, and who got tired of locals telling us they never knew anything was happening until they saw our post about it after the fact.
The geography we cover
Six cities, three counties, two states, one community. Georgia side: Augusta, Evans, Martinez, Grovetown, plus outskirt towns Harlem, Thomson, Appling. South Carolina side: North Augusta (especially Hammond’s Ferry along the river), Aiken (downtown’s tree-lined Main Street and the equestrian heritage), and outskirt towns including Edgefield. We treat the river as a connector, not a border.
What you’ll find on the site
The homepage is the front door. From there, you can wander into any of the discovery lanes (Things to Do, Couples, Family, Friends, Hidden Gems & New, Seasonal & Vibes), browse by city (Augusta, Evans, Martinez, Grovetown, North Augusta, Aiken), or jump straight to upcoming events.
Discovery Lanes vs. Cities. The same restaurant might appear in two places: as a feature in the Couples lane (because it’s a great date night spot) AND in the Augusta city hub. We tag content multiple ways so you can find it however you’re looking.
Evergreen guides. Lists like 12 Best Patios in the CSRA or 15 Best Date Night Restaurants in Columbia County get updated as the area changes. A spot closes, we remove it. A new place opens that beats what we had before, we add it.
Weekly roundups. Every Friday, we drop a Weekend Brief — a short email with what’s worth your time across the CSRA that weekend. Sign up at the bottom of any page.
Submissions. Local business owners can submit themselves for consideration on the Submit Your Business page. We’re selective — we don’t feature everyone — but we do read every submission and respond personally.
What we don’t do
This part matters as much as what we do. CSRA Night & Day is intentionally not a few things:
We’re not a critic page. We don’t write hit pieces. We don’t review badly-rated places. If we feature a restaurant or business, it’s because we think it’s worth your time. If we don’t feature one, we just don’t feature it.
We’re not political. No political content, no religious content with an agenda, no take-sides commentary. Our job is to help everyone find good things to do — not to alienate half of our readers.
We’re not influencer-y. No selfies. No this place is iconic hyperbole. No countdown reels with breathy voice-over. We try to keep the tone calm, clear, and confident — the way a friend who’s been to the place would tell you about it.
We don’t fake reviews. Every spot we feature is one we’ve been to or one we’ve vetted. We don’t accept paid placements that get presented as organic content; if something is sponsored, we say so. These rules exist because we’re a small, local brand, and the only thing we have to trade on is trust.
How to use CSRA Night & Day to actually plan your week
On Friday mornings, scroll the Things to Do lane to see what’s coming up that weekend. Save anything that catches your eye to send to the group chat.
Before a date night, hit the Couples lane or one of the Best Date Night guides. Filter by city if you want to stay close, or by mood if you’re trying for something specific (low-key, lively, cocktail-forward, family of four sneaking out for two hours).
With kids around, the Family lane has parks, splash pads, library events, free or nearly-free activities, and family-friendly restaurants. Especially useful on rainy Saturdays when you need an indoor option, fast.
For a special occasion, the evergreen Best of guides are usually where you want to start. Anniversary, birthday, out-of-town visitors — the lists are curated specifically for those moments.
